ABOUT
MARCIA & ROBIN
Robin and Marcia Hadfield founded A Watering Can in 2011, a ministry birthed out of 50 years of Christian ministry.
Where We Began
Marcia, after graduating from Prairie Bible Institute, in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada in 1964, was accepted as a missionary for Indonesia with WEC International. She arrived in Indonesia in 1967. After language learning, she specialized in the children & youth ministry.
Robin, after graduating from the Missionary Training College in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia in 1968 was also accepted to minister in Indonesia by WEC International, arriving in Indonesia in 1969. His assignment was with the Bible School in South Sumatra. Youth camps and retreats was part of his specialty.
Together
In 1970, they met while ministering in a youth camp and were married in 1971. Psalm 34:3 encapsulates our vision:
“O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.”
After 10 years in Indonesia, we relocated to the USA to commence church pastoring ministry, which included a church plant in San Diego. 10 years later, we relocated to New Zealand to continue church pastoral ministry. Afterwards, we left church work to start our own business of working with international students who came to New Zealand for education.
In 2004, we returned to USA and began 10 years of ministry with the Christian & Missionary Alliance as interim lead pastor in five different churches in the greater Seattle area.
Refresh, Revive, Restore
In 2011, we formed our 501(c)(3) corporation, A Watering Can, to refresh, revive, and restore those in spiritual ministry, those in professional pursuits and people in their everyday life. In 2016, we transitioned our focus to prayer by establishing several prayer initiatives. This website reflects those prayer initiatives.
